The University of Glasgow and the Glasgow School of Art are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 12th Annual Early Medieval Archaeology Student Symposium. EMASS 2018 will be held from 19-21 April 2018 at the University of Glasgow, with a visit to the Glasgow School of Art’s School of Simulation and Visualisation.

EMASS welcomes proposals for papers and posters by postgraduate and early career researchers that focus on the early medieval period (4th – 12th centuries AD) in any geographical area. Proposals by international researchers are especially welcome, though please note the symposium is conducted in English. Papers are 20 minutes with time afterwards for discussion. Posters can be either A1 or A2 in size and will be displayed during breaks. Please submit abstracts of no more than 250 words to earlymedievalarchaeology@gmail.com along with contact details, institutional affiliation, and several keywords to allow for ease of session placement by Wednesday, 31 January 2018.
